At hila, we embrace the Sicilian saying "tavola è trazzera," which means 'table is a passing place,' where strangers come together to eat and gather. In Sicily, a trazzera was a rural road where individuals crossed paths while traveling to work in the fields.. Our gelato and caffè shop aims to be a welcoming space where the local community gathers without needing an invitation.
